In June of 2023 my book was born

This is a cookbook on a mission to nourish and inspire. In a time when prejudice persists, the things that unite us are our stories and our meals that we continue to share with one another.

In 2017, while dropping deeper into my role of motherhood and raising tiny girls who will eventually become women, I began to consider ways that storytelling would shape their outlook on life as a female. I invited a dear friend and talented illustrator, Ashly Jernigan, to unite our talents and mutual vision and to create something that deeply represents the strength, unity, and persistence of the female spirit.

A Table Set for Sisterhood is a fully illustrated, wholly original feminist cookbook featuring 35 recipes, each linked to a significant woman throughout history and from across the globe. By introducing these women through the medium of food – a dish related to their work, where they hail from, or what they fought for — A Table Set for Sisterhood fuses the arts of storytelling and cooking.
